Anthony L. Lacorazza has nearly three decades of law enforcement experience, including service with the NYPD and the Presidential Protection Division, supporting high-level security operations and investigations.

About Anthony Lacorazza

Anthony L. Lacorazza was born in 1970 and was raised in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn, NY. Anthony is married to his wife Teresa for (26) years, and they have two sons, James (22), who is named after Anthony’s childhood friend James Riches (NYPD/FDNY) who was killed on 9/11, and Anthony P. Lacorazza (21).

 

Anthony is in his 29th year of Law Enforcement. He started his law enforcement career with the New York City Police Department (NYPD) in 1997, where he served for three years in the Brooklyn South area of NYC. During his time with the NYPD, Anthony served as a patrol officer in the 72nd precinct, was in a gang enforcement unit and then served in the Civil Disturbance Unit, formerly known as Brooklyn South Task Force.

 

In April of 2000, Anthony joined the U.S. Secret Service (USSS) and was assigned to the New York Field Office. In his first assignment Anthony was assigned to the Airport Squad which covered both John F. Kennedy and LaGuardia Airports. While serving in this position, Anthony served on the FBI Task Force and investigated all thefts and smuggling operations occurring through these Airports, conducted the security plan for arrivals/departures of all USSS Protectees including the President, Vice President and Papal visits.

 

On September 11, 200 I, Anthony and his airport team coordinated the personnel recall and evacuation of all New York Field Office agents assigned to WTC. Following the attacks of 9/11, Anthony was selected to coordinate the U.S. Congressional Delegation’s visit to Ground Zero, in conjunction with President Bush s visit there on Friday, September 14, 2001.

 

During the next phase of his NYC assignment, Anthony held various roles. He conducted financial investigations as well as creating and supervised the USSS/NYC Financial Crime Task Force, which conducted worldwide financial investigations in conjunction with local state, and Federal agencies. He was later assigned to the Protection Squad, which covered all USSS Protectees coming into NYC, which included the President Vice President, the Republican National Convention in 2004, as well as the annual United Nations General Assembly every September.

 

In 2008, Anthony was transferred to Washington, DC, and was assigned to the Presidential Protection Division (PPD) where he served for six years under the President George W. Bush and President Barack Obama Administration’s. His initial assignment was the First Daughter’s detail under President Bush. With the inauguration of President Obama in 2009, he was reassigned to the Presidential Transportation Division where he was tasked with driving the President and coordinated Presidential Motorcades around the country and the world. He was later assigned to one of President Obama’s shift details where he conducted Presidential Sites, Lead Advances, overseas Site Advances, Presidential Logistics as well as the 2012 Presidential Campaign.

 

In 2016, Anthony returned to the New York Field Office, where he was assigned to oversee NYC Protective Operations which included the logistics for election night 2016 when candidate’s Donald Trump and former First Lady Hillary Clinton had their election night rallies. Anthony later supervised the USSS New York Field Office Financial Crimes Squad and conducted worldwide investigations with local, state, and Federal partners.

 

In 2020, Anthony was promoted to the position of Assistant to the Special Agent in Charge (ATSAIC) and was tasked to supervise all the USSS Protective visits in NYC. He also serves as the NYC/USSS liaison to the NYPD, Fire Department of the City of New York (FDNY) and the Port Authority Police Department of New York/New Jersey (PAPD). Additionally, he represents the New York Field Office for all major events involving USSS Protectees, which included the former President Trump Detail, while visiting NYC, from 2021-2025.

 

Over Anthony’s 29 years in Law Enforcement, he has contributed and served with numerous foundations and philanthropy organizations. Anthony currently serves as the Vice President Chapter l, for Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association (FLEOA), the 3rd Vice President of the Italian American Police Society of New Jersey (IAPSNJ) and is the Federal Liaison and Executive Board member of the Tunnel-to-Towers Foundation (T2T.org). These positions have afforded Anthony the opportunity to raise thousands of dollars for fallen Military and First Responders, hold annual Toy Drives for widows and children of our fallen heroes, and create special projects to assist all those who serve, as well as their themselves who are in need.

 

In December 2019, Anthony received the Patriotic Employer Award by U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) for compliance with the law, and for the dignity fairness, and respect accorded to the active members of the National Guard and Reserves that the USSS employs.

Michael Barry serves as Vice President of the National Police Defense Foundation and Director of Program Services, helping oversee initiatives that support law enforcement officers and their families nationwide.

Det. Michael J. Palladino

President

Michael J. Palladino is the longtime President of the Detectives’ Endowment Association (DEA), leading contract negotiations, union operations, and representing detectives at the city, state, and national levels. He also serves as a Trustee of the $38 billion New York City Police Pension Fund.

Career Highlights

  • Joined the NYPD in 1979 and earned his gold shield in the Narcotics Division in 1987
  • Promoted to Second Grade Detective in 1995 while assigned to the 52nd Precinct Detective Squad in the Bronx
  • Began union leadership as Delegate in 1992 and advanced through multiple leadership roles

SSA Joseph Occhipinti

Founder & Executive Director

Joseph Occhipinti is a native New Yorker whose commitment to public service led to a distinguished career in federal law enforcement and nonprofit leadership. He later co-founded the National Police Defense Foundation with his wife, Angela, and continues to serve as its volunteer Executive Director.
